Just in the New York Times in the Style section ---wonderful images of quite dapper gents. My favorite (of course) is the above image. Also reported in the same article was a nod (can you guess?) to TWEED RIDES!
If you've been following along with this blog... I've been waiting for somebody somewhere to pick up Tweed Rides. Thank you New York Times for being spot on.

Awesome!
Christa says
This flamboyance is part of a curious new movement called Tweed Rides, informal gatherings of spiffily dressed ladies and gents cycling leisurely through town and disdaining finish lines. Tweed Rides began in London earlier this year and have spread this fall to Boston, San Francisco and Chicago."

Great the photos. I absolutely love the look. I'm so glad there's a move towards more formal clothing.
miss mixte...glad you approve ;)
christa...ah, ha you've quoted from the exact NYT article plus included the exact hyperlink to the it. I'm sure my readers can appreciate that.
Thanks!
Dear Readers: The quote from the NYT article contained in Christa's comments needs correction. True the Tweed Run began in London and it was held on January 26th 2009. Very quickly it was picked up on - The first Tweed Ride in the US was in San Francisco on February 12th 2009. Read about it here.
Are there copyright issues with the quote?
So exiting about the concept that I'm trying to plan a ride in Santa Barbara.
This is going to be big.
Christa...Wait did you say you're planning a Tweed Ride in Santa Barbara?...Yeah!!
I love it, as a gentleman bikes it's so nice to see a bit of man-chic. I work in Mayfair in London and some gents rolling round on bikes dressed like this wouldn't look AT ALL out of place. Love it!
Mark...Man-Chic YES!!!Thanks for stopping by. I went over and checked out your blog and will spend some exploring it,okay!
Did you see that NPR had a story about the DC ride? Riding Pretty is spreading. Even my city is becoming much more bicyclist friendly.

Carrie...yes I did hear the NPR piece and yes a post has gone up n the D.C. Tweed Ride!
I hope there'll be a tweed-ride in NYC. Perhaps I've missed it? Saw one gent the other day looking spiffy, but few and far between.
Glenn...NYC Tweed Ride? I haven't heard of one yet.
Readers out there, anyone know of plans for a NYC Tweed Ride?
