Recently Portland held the first of two Tweed Rides, naming this one 'The Virtuous Tweed Ride'. Without any further ado -- sharing but a mere sampling of photos from the ride... [photographer: RyNO DownHill - flickr ] [photographer: David Haines - BikeRanger]These happen to be my particular favorites, and it was extremely hard to narrow it down to just these few. There were so many photos to savor from this ride! Four different photographers are represented here, each one has a slew of great photos. You owe to yourself to visit each of the bold red hyperlinks beneath each photo to see more from that photographer. Enjoy! Now to look forward to the second upcoming Portland Tweed Ride - Vice!It is coming up immediately, as in this weekend April 2nd. I can only imagine how wondrous that ride will be (and the photos)!
A fond look back at Elizabeth Taylor, one more time as seen here riding her bicycle....Liz was adored as an actress -- but I believe Liz wanted to be best remembered for her fight against AIDS. Liz helped to raise money and awareness through her organization AmFAR.

Are you going to the London Tweed Run or any of the other many Tweed Rides that are coming up? Well, here are some ideas for you -- perhaps last minute, just in the nick of time, shopping tips to help you locate some stylish items for your ride. (please click on the image to go to this page on Etsy)
Have you been looking for a Tweed jacket, brogues, leather saddlebags, a cape, knickers, bow tie or even a tweed corset...or perhaps that knit pattern for argyle socks? Have a look then. I created this for all of you, ever mindful of the requests I've received from you asking where the good places are to shop for special vintage or beautiful bespoke items. Well Enjoy! I had so much fun doing this-- Oh yes, I already want to do another one!p.s the man modeling the Tweed Jacket is actually going to the London Tweed Run!
Tweed Run General Store – is a pop-up boutique in Tokyo's Ebisu district.
Tweed Run General Store (part of Wild Life Taylor), is devoted to Tweed styles for the well-dressed gentlemen – perhaps one who is ready to go off on a Tweed Bicycle Run or Tweed Ride?! These photos were taken in December when lots of festivities and parties happened at the shop...“Shosuke Ishizu, one of the patriarchs of Ivy Style in Japan, was on hand to be an unofficial participant in a talk show. A host of gentlemen enjoyed themselves at a party held afterward.”-- via Rei Shito
What I love about these photos is the exceptional Tweed Bicycle Style worn by these dapper gents! I'm sure the shop was quite the scene. I hope all is going well and forward! If I could I would certainly shop there. Please Remember....
Nagoya also had their inaugural Tweed Bicycle Run the same exact day as Osaka. My original intention was to post this for you in short order – just following my original post on Osaka’s Tweed Run that published on 3/9. Fashion we wear, the choice in the bicycle we ride is how we define ourselves, to ourselves and others on the outside -- to me looking at these photos, the delight in the very personal expressions of each and every person in these photo lets me know there is a connection to something bigger here. Sheer, joyful inspiration comes to mind. I do not fear offering superficiality in these horrific times. Quite the opposite. I want to bring attention, love and support to the people of Japan in whatever small measure that I can. PLEASE donate to the Red Cross...or any of the other organizations working tirelessly to bring relief. You can even donate through Paypal.com and they waive the transaction fees so your full donation goes to the organization. Here is another
organization whose message I like:

Thrilling photos of Osaka Japan's inaugural Tweed Run! What more can I say...There were close to 400 photos to look through from this day -- the ones I am sharing with you are my favorites. kkuwajimam, the photographers Kazuki Watanabe and Kaoru Kuwajima have done a fine job. Well, I did my best (in editing) to help tell the story of surely what was a most spectacular Tweed Run! Honestly, I am so impressed with the Tweed bicycle fashion styles seen here -- and worn so well by everyone. If you notice throughout the photos (and are able to spot it), there is a small patch or badge. Apparently all the Tweed bicycle riders were given one. I thought it was the nicest touch. That very same badge graphic was used on the invite as well. If are you curious enough go to the Tweed Ride Report, just scroll down to find the invite for the Osaka Tweed Run -- then you'll know what I'm pointing out here. I just think it's such a good idea! I would LOVE to have that badge to add to my Tweed Ride spokes card collection...
