Via my Twitter search feed, the London Tweed Run 2011 – Honestly I saw the original tweet come up in REAL TIME (4 days ago). You though must Act Fast if you want to reserve tickets. Registration starts at Noon on Feb. 26th. Last year all 400 spots sold out within 45 minutes!

Now for those you who may be unfamiliar with the London Tweed Run, -- It is the Granddaddy, the first, the original! Here’s my first blog post ever written about Tweed anything. This is the one that started it all.

This particular ride delighted and fascinated me what with the cold, the snow and all. So of course I’m inspired by the Helsinki Tweed Run– which is understandable coming from a California beach side town where we’ve had a very mild winter.

Wonderful detail here, couldn't help but notice the satchel bag on the handlebars...a DIY ?

Quick Note -- The Tweed Ride Report has been Updated

Quick Note -- The Tweed Ride Report has been updated with the new 2011 February Tweed Ride invites, and the correspondingly appropriate points of contact-- be it FaceBook, Twitter, Tumblr, Blogs, what have you.

Now to get working on the upcoming March Tweed Rides! I'm still waiting to receive more of the invite flyers / spokes cards for these ride to come in. So far these invites continue to delight and amaze me. What talent!

Further thoughts on this particular offering of Tweed Ride photos-- I'm just so smitten with everyone's talents. Really Philadelphia has more than it's fair share represented here, just check out their group flickr pool of no less than 10 contributors to that one ride alone.

Essence of Fall

Admittedly my love of capes continues on into this year- though with more of an Indian motif or serape feel.

I included the closeup (of my most current favorite shoes) - Frankly, hopefully you won't let any serape fringe get caught in your bicycle spokes! I always make sure to wrap it up around me when I bicycle...but for these photos I took liberty and let my serape cape drape down.

All most everything has been thrifted (including my serape, bicycle market basket, white top, military jacket, black strawberry necklace) the exceptions being the clogs and cuffed jeggings. On the front of my bicycle is my DIY (thrifted) wine style crate - I did this instead of using the traditional wicker basket.
