End Of Summer Bicycle Picnic

Today being the first day of Fall - there's still time for Indian Summer bicycle picnics here in California.

It's not Indian Summer everyday... of course there are foggy days too. You can see the fog creeping in this series of photos. See how I started out in a halter dress. Later on I was so glad to have my little red sweater top to slip on when the fog rolled in!

Happy to get around at last to sharing a bicycle picnic day with you. Most everything you see in these photos is vintage and thrifted. Dress, shoes, picnic accoutrement and baskets. The wine crates on my bicycle are DIY. My bicycle is this one, only I repainted it flat mat black - which is kind of a classic for cruiser bicycles here at the beach.

Betsey Johnson Rides a Pink Bicycle

Betsey Johnson looks like she is having a blast on her hot pink bicycle! The photo was taken during her bicycle ride around NYC - she's out celebrating her (68th!) birthday. She must really like that bicycle, she rode it down the runway too during her Spring 2011 Fashion Show last week. She's touched on a cycling theme - you see cycling caps on all the models for the show finale. I'm amazed at her sheer energy. "Ride Me" - look for this in the runway video - real flashy bling better worn by my bicycle than by me....

Bicycles & Interiors - Sneak Peeks Inside

Bicycles and the interiors they inhabit make for a great way to sneak peek into peoples homes- for me it's just to see how the bicycle is accommodated into the space it occupies. It's what is so fascinating to me.

A fun post was recently in Design Sponge - they pulled from their archives all the interiors with bicycles in the shot. The Selby photo - Erin Wasson's place with her vintage DL-1 Raleigh bicycle is a particular favorite of mine. Then there is share from me which is the very jam packed corner view of the room with the four bicycles in it.

As evidenced in these paparazzi celeb photos -Sting & Trudi, George Clooney & GF, and Beckham have a lot of individual finesse when it comes to choosing the bike, and what to wear style wise.

Atlanta Seersucker Social - Dapper Gents & Summer Belles

From the looks of these photos the Seersucker Social in Atlanta was quite a spectacular event.

What stylish riders! The gents this time really took the cake in overall style points ( via my humble opinion) - not that the ladies weren't absolutely charming. It's just that Atlanta's
fine gents reminded me of some recently inspiring photos. Ones that I came across in the NYTimes Fashion- Style section. See what I'm talking about here...for a case in point.
